The Dornier 328JET, also known as the Fairchild Dornier 328JET, is a three-abreast, twin engine regional jet airliner. Initially produced by Dornier Flugzeugwerke of Manzell, Friedrichshafen, Germany, the firm was later acquired in 1996 by Fairchild Aircraft of San Antonio, Texas USA. The resulting firm, named Fairchild-Dornier, manufactured the Dornier 328JET in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany alongside with its turboprop based predecessor, the Dornier 328.

The 328JET was designed by Dornier in response to negative feedback from some customers about the marketability of turboprops against the more appealing turbofan engine. The 328JET was essentially a re-engining of the existing Dornier 328 that was to be designated as the 328-300, before being rebranded as the 328JET.

Production of the Dornier 328JET ended in 2002 after 110 units were produced. There are reportedly 18 Dornier 328JET aircraft still in active airline service with 10 carriers.

Although a Dornier 428JET stretched variant had been considered, that project was cancelled in 2000 as Dornier collapsed. Rights to the Dornier 328JET have since been purchased by a new company, Deutsche Regional Aircraft GmbH, which is currently restarting production of the Dornier 328 turboprop type. However, Deutsche Aircraft has not so far indicated if or when it might revive the 328JET type.
