Aircraft / Airbus A340-600
The Airbus A340-600 is a long-range, wide-body twin-engine jet airliner developed and produced by Airbus SE, a European multinational aerospace manufacturer headquartered at Blagnac (Toulouse), France. It is one of four variants of the type, the others being the Airbus A340-200, Airbus A340-300, and Airbus A340-500.
Introduced in 2002 as a replacement for early generation Boeing 747-200 and Boeing 747-300 aircraft, production of the A340-300 ended in 2010 after 97 examples were built; the newer generation Airbus A350 went on to replace it. During its original production life cycle, the Airbus A340-600 was available only as a passenger aircraft, but after-market P2F (passenger to freighter) conversion programs for the A340-600 are now available.
