A member of the 2nd generation Embraer E-Jet E2 family, the Embraer E195-E2 is a four-abreast, narrow-body, short to medium range twin-engine jet airliner produced by Embraer S.A., a Brazilian aerospace manufacturer headquartered at São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil.

The Embraer E195-E2 entered production in 2019 as the successor model to the company’s 1st generation Embraer E195. The type was extended by three seat rows (2.85 m / 9.4 ft in length) as compared to the E195, and it can seat 23-31 more passengers than its sibling, the Embraer E190-E2. The E195-E2 also features two Pratt & Whitney PW1000G geared turbofan (GTF) engines, which offer substantial improvements in terms of fuel burn, pollutant and noise emissions, as well as lower overall operating costs. Along with these refinements, the E195-E2 carries 120 passengers - 20% more than the E195. These upgrades have combined to make the E195-E2 the most popular selling variant of the E-Jet E-2 family.

As of early 2025 the E195-E2 has had fairly respectable sales: It has 282 orders so far, including a backlog of 172 aircraft, which constitutes about 80% of total orders for the E2 jet program. The E195-E2’s primary competitor is the Airbus A220 - which is currently outselling the E195-E2 - as well as the Comac C909 and Sukhoi SSJ100 Superjet.

The Embraer E195-E2 is sold by default as a passenger aircraft only, but they are widely expected to be convertible into freighters in later years via aftermarket freighter conversion programs.
